The government of Nova Scotia is providing low-income Nova Scotians with free heat pumps and other home upgrades thanks to a $140-million provincial investment in energy efficiency programs over four years.
All Nova Scotians can continue getting help with a variety of energy efficiency upgrades through the Home Energy Assessment program. It is the first step to accessing rebates or loans through the federal Greener Homes program.
In Nova Scotia, the federal Canada Greener Homes Grant initiative is co-delivered with Efficiency Nova Scotia’s provincial Home Energy Assessment (HEA) program. Anyone who enrolls in HEA and meets Greener Homes eligibility will automatically be considered for federal rebates and has the option to apply for an interest-free loan.
To take advantage of this program …
- Book an initial Home Energy Assessment (HEA) with Efficiency Nova Scotia.
- Review your custom recommendations from your Registered Energy Advisor.
- Have Atlantic Multi-Trade Contracting install a Centrally Ducted Air Source Heat Pump or a Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump.
- Book your final HEA to assess the improvements to your energy usage.
- Receive your provincial or Federal rebate.
